To excel in school, black male students need role models and dreams.

 

There is no challenge greater facing young African American men than being motivated to succeed and empowerment. They often feel forgotten.

 

The young African American male struggles in many areas. According to the Schott Foundation,  the US high school graduation rate for black males is just 47 percent compared to 57 percent for hispanic males and 75 percent for White males. The challenges for black men begins before they even enter school. Many of the black males grow up in single parent households with no father figure.

 

Children are being exposed to violent events in their neighborhoods. Observing violent events or living in fear of violence. All of these factors impact their development and education. Many of these young black men cannot see themselves living beyond the age of 21.

 

The Unforgotten First Foundation was developed to change the course and educate one black male at a time. This foundation was created to lead, inspire and develop our young black males.

 

Today young black males from underserved communities will benefit from specific leadership programs provided by The Unforgotten First Foundation. The programs provided will guide and support them in mentorship, financial literacy, conflict resolution and health and wellness.

 

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the organization is to teach manhood to our black males and give them a strong sense of purpose to achieve schooling. Our programs will stimulate and inspire these black males through core leadership and educational programming.

 

We will focus on the history of the African American man. We believe that knowledge is power and history gives black males an understanding of themselves by suggesting possibilities of future achievements based on what they have achieved in the past.

 

OUR GOAL

Our goal is to empower our young black males and equip them with the tools and resources needed to lead a successful life. Our men will take the Unforgotten First pledge, pledging to strive and be the best in certain development areas.

 

The Unforgotten First Foundation will support the young black males to gain a higher education and providing scholarships. We will provide a unique experience that each black male believes in the importance of obtaining a higher education.
